The following websites offer information, research and/or newsletters on the latest issues related to early education and childcare for children birth to age 21 years.

Birth to Five Policy Alliance is a national website that tracks state and national policies, provides tools for policy makers, business leaders, parents and family members and promotes innovative and successful policy ideas that support families in their parenting roles and ensure positive early childhood development and learning opportunities for at risk infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families.

CLASP's Child Care and Early Education work is dedicated to promoting policies that support both child development and the needs of low-income working parents. CLASP conducts policy analysis, research, and technical assistance to expand access to and resources for highquality, comprehensive child care and early education; build effective child care and early education systems including child care subsidies, Head Start, pre-kindergarten and other early education initiatives; and ensure these systems can be responsive to the developmental needs of all children, in particular infants and toddlers and children in immigrant families. “Early Education in the News,” a weekly newsletter with articles on the latest research, legislation, policy issues and job postings in early childhood is offered by this organization.

Future of Children disseminates timely information on major issues related to children’s well-being and provides articles and scholarly research.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (Public Policy) promotes national, state and local public policies that support a system of well-financed, high quality early childhood education programs in a range of settings, including child care centers, family child care homes, and schools.

National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NOIST) is involved in development, training, research and publications related to high quality programs, opportunities, and activities for all children during non school hours.

Plan4Preschool offers a digital library for preschool planning in California.

Rand Preschool Study: Early Care and Education in the Golden State by Lynn A. Karoly, Elaine Reardon, Michelle Cho To evaluate the adequacy and efficiency of preschool education the Rand Corporation has undertaken the California Preschool Study to improve understanding of achievement gaps in the early elementary grades, the adequacy of the preschool education currently given, and what efficiencies or additional resources might be brought to bear in early care and education.

The Children’s Collabrium, formerly the Child Development Policy Institute Education Fund,works to transform research and information on early learning and development into sound policy and excellent practice. The organization sponsors child care policy institutes and workshops on Preschool for All.

Zero to Three Public Policy Center is a research based, nonpartisan program that brings the voices of babies and toddlers to public policy. They offer the opportunity to join the Public Policy Network and the e-newsletter, The Baby Monitor.
